WHAT ARE THE CAMPS?
During these camps Miss Nikki guides the dancers through 8 ballet/movement classes that are centered around a classical ballet stories. The children learn basic ballet vocabulary, etiquette and movements. They also become extremely familiar with the story by reading the book, learning about the music, and memorizing actual choreography from the productions.
The last class of each camp is an open studio “Performance” that all of the parents are invited to. The girls perform the 5-6 minute piece that they have learned during the camp which involves group choreography, individual solos and props. The dancers even take home a goodie bag with story inspired treats.

“I like the music because it is fast and fun, and teacher Nikki is really fun,”
“I like Nikki’s ballet camps because it isn’t just ballet, it is a cultural awakening done in a fun way for these little guys. My daughter got into the car the other day and exclaimed, “Firebird?” Stravinsky was playing. I’d say that’s pretty fantastic.”
